Hey, thanks for stopping by Beau Stephenson Music channel, I super appreciate the love! I’m a singer-songwriter, producer, and musician who is obsessed with everything vintage, audio gear, and recording related. This channel is a reflection of my love of live performance, artistic expression, and capturing moments that connect with people. I will always share with you the reasons why I choose what I write about, or songs that I decide to cover, so you know where I’m coming from. I would love to know your thoughts, too, so always feel free to leave a comment, I try and engage with everyone who comes here. And for those of you that are part of the tribe, I’m ALWAYS here for you!

About 8 years ago, I wrote this song for my soon-to-be wife one night after we had an amazing conversation about our relationship and our hopes for the future. It's an amazing thing to have a moment like that preserved in a song, and I'm really excited to be able to share it with you. If you catch The Beatles easter egg in the lyrics, let me know in the comments! The Irish feel of the song is an homage to my ancestors and rather fitting I think to the lyrical content, too. What do you think?

Here are the lyrics, in case you want to sing along:

Moonlight Child

I caught the moonlight in her eyes As she smiled my way
A sudden raindrop left her eye When she spoke to me

Cool mountain air brings heaven closer We’re a world apart
A change that shifts hearts close together Like a light in the dark

My jealous self is ever closing Like a wraith in the night
Iconic romance found in novels Grows between me and her

A loyal friend I can rely on And she on me
I put it all on that moment With those eyes in the night

Look for the girl with the stars in her eyes
As she takes me away from here
Oh, my moonlight child

Her loving gaze that saw right through me and Filled my heart with light
A place once dark she brightened quickly Leaving no place to hide

I face the sun with joyous singing, I write my carol of love
hills meet skies of grey, Rain falls to the ground

Look for the girl with the stars in her eyes
As she takes me away from here
Oh, my moonlight child
Oh-oo

The Celtic cry of love is heard Oh the gale, it blows it away
Sailing ‘cross the sea of love To arrive at her shore

Look for the girl with the stars in her eyes
As she takes me away from here
Oh, my moonlight child

I caught the moonlight in her eye
As she smiled my way

All Things Must Pass - George Harrison /// Cover | Beau Stephenson /// A...

The first time I heard this song, I cried. It's just a beautiful expression of melancholy hopefulness that George Harrison is the king of. All Things Must Pass is about the passing of time, changing seasons of life, loss of loved ones, but with the certainty that out of the grey springs forth sunlight. I just love how it makes me feel.
There's a link to download the MP3 for free when you watch this on YouTube. Just check the description.

Some Days /// Original Song Lyrics | Beau Stephenson /// Live Acoustic P...

Despite some of the most painful moments of my life this past year, I've always tried to cling to hope. Even though my heart aches at night and the fleeting memories of happier times seem more like dreams now, I try to hold onto moments every day that remind me that things will be ok.

I have so much to be grateful for. So many kind people that constantly lift up Lindi and the rest of us in prayer. We've had complete strangers cry with us, old friends reach out from across the country, and extra time with family through all of this, and I'm changed because of it.
I look at who I was before, and then look at who I am now, and I have to say, I like this version of me so much more.
I'm on a mission to fill the world around me with as much love as I can. Every day I wake up and try my hardest to remove all of the bitterness, anger, and hate inside of me and replace it with the love and peace that my Heavenly Father sends me. It's because of his love that I am even capable of being there for my girls every moment.
I hope this song is a comfort to you as it is to me. The message is simple, but it has profoundly impacted my heart and mind.
“Some days are good days, some days are bad
Some days are good days, some days are sad.
Sometimes it’s impossible for you to see without faith in me.
Some days are Good Days, and Good days are comin’ around
Good days are comin’, and I will calm your fears.
Good days are comin’, and I will dry your tears.
Good days are comin’. And I will comfort you.
Good days are comin’, and I will heal her, too.
Good days are comin’, let me heal your mind.
Good days are comin’, in me, peace you’ll find.
Good days are comin’, my love for you is true.
Good days are comin’, let me guide you through.”
